About Us : We are a reputable law firm with over 80 full-time employees, dedicated to providing top-tier legal services. We value a positive and compliant work environment and are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to manage our HR functions independently and with precision.
Position Overview : The Human Resources Manager will serve as a standalone HR professional, responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management within the firm. This role requires a self-motivated and detail-oriented professional with extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including those enforced by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other employer compliance standards.
Payroll Administration : Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Benefits Administration : Serve as the primary benefits administrator, managing employee enrollments, terminations, and ongoing support for health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefit offerings.
Compliance Management : Maintain compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations, including TWC guidelines, ADA requirements, and other relevant statutes.
HR Support : Act as the main point of contact for employee HR needs, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Policy Development : Update and implement HR policies and procedures to align with best practices and legal requirements.
Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Training and Development : Coordinate and facilitate training sessions as needed to promote professional growth and regulatory compliance.
Employee Relations : Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns and implementing engagement strategies.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
- Extensive knowledge of TWC, ADA, and other employment laws and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
