Dock Master

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dock Master to oversee the operations at our docking facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the docking process, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining efficient operations. This role requires strong leadership abilities and a solid understanding of mechanical systems related to docking equipment.

Duties

• Supervise the arrival and departure of vessels at the dock, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
• Coordinate with crew members to manage loading and unloading of cargo.
• Inspect docking equipment and machinery regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, cargo details, and dock activities.
• Communicate with shipping companies, crew members, and other stakeholders regarding schedules and operational updates.
• Implement safety protocols and training for all dock personnel to minimize accidents and injuries.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to rigging or other equipment as necessary.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the dock area to promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a marine or shipping environment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly related to rigging systems and docking equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to operational challenges.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
