TITLE : ELEMENTARY SCIENCE, STEM, AND SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS :
Valid teaching certification
Master's Degree required, with intensive
course work in curriculum development
At least five years' successful teaching experience in science, social studies and / or STEM.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO : Chief Academic Officer
JOB GOAL : To assist elementary teachers in providing meaningful standards-based learning experiences for Putnam City students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Leads science, social studies, and STEM teaching and learning for PreK to 5th grade.
Analyzes data to determine strengths and weaknesses in curriculum and instruction.
Meets with teachers to implement the district's science, social studies, and STEM curriculum.
Assists teachers in the organization and management of classrooms for effective teaching and learning.
Assists in the construction and evaluation of science and social studies assessments.
Facilitates in the selection of supplies, equipment, textbooks, and materials for science, social studies, and STEM instruction.
Provides instructional modeling and professional learning improve instructional practices.
Responsible for program budgets and grants.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with district leaders, colleagues, teachers, and other stakeholders.
Participates in professional organizations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Twelve-month year. Salary to be established by the Board.
