JOB DESCRIPTION
PHYSICAL THERAPIST
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Valid Florida license in physical therapy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to provide direct physical therapy services to students. Ability to provide consultative services to
classroom teachers that have students eligible for physical therapy.
REPORTS TO:
Director, Exceptional Student Education
School site principal
JOB GOAL
To provide students with quality physical therapy services.
SUPERVISES:
N/A
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* (1) Evaluation of students referred for physical therapy.
* (2) Develop a physical therapy plan for qualified students.
* (3) Selection of equipment and materials to use in physical therapy.
* (4) Consultant to the classroom teacher.
* (5) Assist in developing district procedures for physical therapy.
* (6) Provide direct physical therapy services to qualified students.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently
and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on
evaluation of personnel.
