Position: 1/2 Day Summer Custodian Meal Box Distributor(s) – (2)
Location: Summer Feeding Program, various sites throughout the county
Classification: C
Qualifications: Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED or TASC equivalent and be employed as a service employee with the county.
Length Of Employment: 1 Day a week between the dates of July 1 - August 01, 2025 - 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Important: must be available to work the full summer contract; no exceptions for vacations or attending summer staff development.
Salary Range: 2025-26 Salary Schedule (Daily Rate) Service Daily Salary
Job Description: At least 1 day per week for meal box receiving and/or distribution to ensure children will receive healthy meals throughout the summer months. Summer employees will prepare the approved meal distribution sites for weekly box meal pickups by parents. Duties include receiving already prepared meal boxes by the vendor delivered to each site, count boxes during receiving or before each weekly meal distribution period begins. Employees will be outside in the weather for the duration of the shift, use cones for traffic control, set up canopies, distribute meal boxes to parent cars with parents staying inside their car, use pallet jack to help move food pallets/boxes to the designated pick-up areas a the school site, count and load leftover meal boxes into school storage, clean and put away supplies when meal distribution is complete, use proper lifting techniques to ensure safe work habits, must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, check off parent/student names as meal boxes are distributed to cars, and all other duties as assigned by the director.
Effective Employment Date: July 1 - August 1, 2025 (as needed)
