Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and specimen collections from patients using aseptic techniques.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and specimens to maintain accuracy.
- Process specimens according to laboratory procedures, ensuring quality control.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns and ensuring comfort during procedures.
- Document all procedures accurately in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures at all times.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experienced as Phlebotomist required
- Certification preferred: NPA, ASCP, etc.
Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and blood sampling procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Strong understanding of physiology related to phlebotomy practices.
- Experience in patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Knowledge of specimen collection processing and laboratory procedures.
