Putney Student Travel is seeking a full-time Marketing & Client Outreach Coordinator to join its marketing team.
Since 1951, Putney has offered high school and middle school students the opportunity to experience and shape their world through summer travel, unique cultural engagement, seminars, friendship, and fun. Our educational and experiential summer programs take students to 30 countries around the world, and they return home with new perspectives and friends, transformed worldviews, and the inspiration to take charge of their futures and be young leaders in today’s world. We also offer academic, campus-based programs under the brand of Oxford Academia. Putney collaborates with Smithsonian to offer Smithsonian Student Travel; Harvard Chan C-CHANGE to offer the Harvard Youth Summit on Climate, Equity, & Health; and the Columbia University Climate School.
In support of these diverse program offerings, we’re seeking a motivated and enthusiastic new member of our team. This position requires a creative, self-directed, organized, detail-oriented person who can learn and embody multiple brand identities, in collaboration with a small, supportive, and agile marketing team.

As Putney’s Marketing & Client Outreach Coordinator you will:
- Create content for blogs and email marketing campaigns for each of our unique brands
- Create, schedule, and track the performance of all email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp)
- Spearhead and expand client outreach and engagement efforts to increase customer satisfaction, alumni retention, and word-of-mouth marketing
- Assist in website content management (using the Wordpress CMS) for multiple websites
- Assist in copywriting and copyediting of marketing materials, maintaining consistency in brand identity and voice across our breadth of programs and collaborations
- Collaborate in brainstorms and strategy discussions to continually improve our marketing efforts
- Manage a variety of seasonal editing projects and administrative tasks
- Perform basic graphic design and web design tasks alongside our designer, as needed
You have:
- Degree in communications, English, marketing, or other relevant field
- Experience in a similar role, preferred but not required
- Experience with the Wordpress CMS
- Experience with email marketing software, preferably Mailchimp
- Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design principles
- Comfort working in Google Workspace (in particular, Google Sheets)
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative approach to projects
- A low key perfectionist bent

This position is full-time and in-person at our headquarters in Putney, Vermont with excellent benefits. The compensation and benefits package includes healthcare, of which the employee’s premium is covered 100% by the employer; 401k plan with generous employer-funded contributions (no required employee contributions); flexible paid time off, in addition to a company-wide four-week period off in the summer, and more. The salary for this position starts at $48,000, along with an extensive benefits package.
