Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner will work directly with Directors, Regional Directors, and Managers within our venues to deliver a quality associate experience and support a People First culture. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day People functions relative to associate relations, engagement, compliance, reporting, and overall administration of the associate life-cycle for assigned venue locations. The Human Resources Business Partner works closely with management and associates to improve working relationships and drive engagement while upholding Puttshack’s culture and values.

Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner will work directly with Directors, Regional Directors, and Managers within our venues to deliver a quality associate experience and support a People First culture. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day People functions relative to associate relations, engagement, compliance, reporting, and overall administration of the associate life-cycle for assigned venue locations. The Human Resources Business Partner works closely with management and associates to improve working relationships and drive engagement while upholding Puttshack’s culture and values.
Position Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To
- Partner closely with venue leaders and managers to identify and resolve a variety of organizational, leadership, associate relations, development, and staffing issues.
- Partner with executive team and regional operations leaders on strategic people planning to determine priorities, deliver on new projects and initiatives, and measure effectiveness.
- Provide developmental coaching, counseling, and training to venue leadership to drive performance and accountability across managers and hourly field associates.
- Conduct associate relation investigations, maintain investigation files, and partner with stakeholders on high-risk cases.
- Takes a preventive, strategic approach to associate relations by identifying associate relation trends, recommending solutions that address root-cause of issue, and partnering with leadership on execution.
- Provide associate relations coaching and training to venue leaders to address, correct, and prevent associate relations issues or risks, with the goal of decreasing incidents and increasing overall engagement & retention.
- Administer, create, and oversee the administration of human resource programs and policies, including but not limited to performance management, disputes and investigations, productivity, compliance & labor laws, rewards and recognition and associate engagement.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Business Partners and Operations Leaders to develop solutions, training, implement best practices, and policies.
- Develops, recommends, and communicates strategies for enhancements to Associate Relations/Human Resources Programs to include process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Operations leaders to support talent assessment, succession planning, and internal mobility.
- Partner with Operations, Training, and Talent Acquisition to develop and execute recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for new venue openings within the region.
- Provide support to HR Operations on job changes, including promotions, annual salary increases cycles, and minimum wage increases as needed.
- Research local employment laws for New Venues with the region, and suggestion changes to any current processes or policies accordingly.
- Other projects or duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience is required.
- 5 years' experience in a high-volume multi-unit restaurant, hospitality or retail environment is required, including at least 3 years' experience directly managing Employee Relations issues.
- Knowledge of national and local HR/labor laws and legislation, proven ability to handle confidential information and stay within compliance.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work as a self-directed individual taking initiative to identify and address business needs.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a high-growth, start-up environment.
- Advanced ability to delegate tasks and collaborate with others.
- Flexible, curious, and down to earth personality with a true passion for the business of people.
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
- Must be able to travel frequently to support business needs.
- This position must pass a post-offer background check.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred.
- Experience with ADP WFN (Workforce Now).
