What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Automotive Painter - 2nd Shift position at Putzmeister America, Inc.?
Summary: This position is on the 2nd shift. Working hours are from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Paints all assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts in accordance with customer specifications.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Details completed units by touching up needed areas.
Completes the layout for stripes and graphics and makes the application.
Inspects parts and machines for their conformance to prep standards before painting.
Paint parts including, but not limited to, frames and lower portions of finished assemblies with consistently high quality according to the paint specification sheets.
Operates and maintains paint pumps, spray guns, and other related equipment.
Prepares documentation and checklists accurately.
Informs Supervisor or Lead Person of problems encountered, such as material and quality issues.
Safely drives customers’ trucks in and around the Putzmeister property.
Ensures that the work area is orderly, clean, and safe on a daily basis.
Maintains Putzmeister America’s high standards of quality.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
A working knowledge of spray guns and related equipment.
Waste management training is helpful.
Able to pass a pulmonary function test (PFT), required for respirator use.
Fluently works with the metric system.
Education/Certification/Training
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in painting operations.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Power washing experience is preferred but not required.
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
The noise level in this environment is frequently loud.
Ability to continuously stand or walk and the ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
