PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a full-time Application Support Specialist III to be responsible for a broad range of activities surrounding the implementation and support of multi-service applications. These applications automate the capture of clinical and billing information and its subsequent reporting and retrieval. Applications include but are not limited to NextGen Healthcare PM and EHR, QSI / EDR, Guardian Rx / Carepoint, and/or Carepoint Interface Engine.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establishes effective relationships with all levels of PTHA personnel to support a positive and professional working environment.
- Acquires and maintains current comprehensive knowledge of the applications involved to determine what workflow issues versus system / application deficiencies are.
- Assists with the implementation, integration and customization of the products obtained by PTHA.
- As directed, create, modify and generate reports from PTHA applications within defined time frames.
- As directed, perform analysis, troubleshoot, template and document modification / development and testing within defined time frames.
- Log all problems upon receipt, document problem resolution within 24 hours of ticket closure, and escalate those requiring a higher level of technical support to the appropriate person or team.
- Analyzes and evaluates processes related to information flow and properly documents work performed and solutions to issues within defined time frames.
- Trains and assists staff in the efficient use of the current applications and provides new hire application training as requested by department managers.
- Coordinates the deployment of new portions of the applications/electronic health record in specified clinical locations within defined time frames.
- Evaluates and manages the implementation, integration and customization of the products obtained by PTHA.
- Coordinates and provides support on related application modules to insure smooth operations in areas where package scope overlaps or is integrated with other services’ functions.
- Conducts classes on applications, develops training material based on workflows as needed and/or scheduled.
- Provides daily oversight of Application staff and ensures their responsibilities are met and informs department supervisor immediately if issues arise.
- Coordinates work flow and assigns daily tasks to Application Support Specialist staff as needed and directed.
- Consults with the IT Director, IT staff, and clinical departments in application modifications, enhancements, projects, altering workflow process, and assist in developing technical requirements daily or as needed.
- Provides weekly summary of work accomplished, open issues and focus for the upcoming week to department supervisor by established deadline.
- Responsible for providing expert technical direction and leadership in the design and implementation of multi service applications.
- Assist with development and implementation of organizational policies that relate to application support services.
- Identifies, develops, implements and supports new and ongoing projects for multiservice applications by establishing deliverables with appropriate timelines and deadlines.
- Maintains written and up-to-date applications processes and procedures.
- Creates application support RFI/RFP/RFQ’s as needed or directed by established deadline.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum six (6) years’ experience with electronic health records application(s) required OR equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience with electronic health records application(s)
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience working with NextGen EHR system
- Demonstrable experience with EHR systems, preparing training materials, conducting user trainings and proficiency in MS Office applications required
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience with coordinating and overseeing employees’ duties and responsibilities
Requires the following three (3) current certifications at time of hire:
- NextGen Certified Professional-Practice Management (NCP-PM)
- NextGen Certified Professional-Electronic Health Record (NCP-EHR)
- NextGen Certified Professional-Document Management (NCP DM)
Salary : $86,132 - $108,971
