The PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma Washington is seeking a full-time experienced Behavioral Psychologist. This position provides services in the Residency Program of the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority to include, but not limited to, evaluating residents as well as providing clinical input and supervision for their patient panels, leading resident scholarly activities, leading groups and providing didactic lectures. This position will also provide neuropsychological testing and assessments for PTHA patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide regular evaluations of the Family Medicine Residents pertaining to the core competencies for training defined by ACGME, ABFM, and AOBFM.
  • Serves as a member on the Clinical Competency Committee and Program Evaluation Committee.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of faculty development materials and courses as well as behavioral science curriculum.
  • Lead the scholarly projects of the residency.
  • Deliver monthly lectures as part of the Family Medicine Residency didactic series.
  • Provide clinical input and supervision to residents on the behavior health issues for their patient panels.
  • Supervise residents in developing competence in interviewing skills, diagnosis (and management and/or referral when appropriate) and mental health disorders common to primary care practice, and integration of a biopsychosocial approach to medical practice.
  • Instruct residents on how to recognize symptoms and when to seek care regarding fatigue, sleep deprivations, burn out and substance use disorder.
  • Provide neuropsychological testing/assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans as needed for PTHA patients. Provide referrals when necessary for additional care.
  • Lead group sessions, with residents and patients.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and other professionals to provide the best possible patient care.
  • Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all services are completed according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Washington State psychologist license or ability to obtain by hire date.
  • Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Successful completion of an APA accredited internship under a licensed psychologist.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in psychology.
  • Experience and knowledge of neuropsychology testing.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in rehabilitation/medical psychology or rehabilitation-oriented neuropsychology is preferred.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with residents preferred.
  • Experience and/or ability to work with electronic health records/practice management systems.

Salary : $104,000 - $165,000
