PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a full time Sterilization Processing Technician. to be responsible for the processing, cleaning, sterilization, packaging and storing of supplies, instruments, and equipment needed for patient care. The Sterilization Processing Technician will also correctly package and wrap all supplies and instruments according to department needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow established infection control and sterilization procedures when handling instruments and equipment daily.
- Follow cleaning standards on all instruments prior to sterilization in the autoclave daily.
- Package dental and medical instruments and materials in appropriate packs prior to sterilization daily.
- Place sterilized equipment and instruments in proper storage after completion of sterilization and cooling process.
- Maintain appropriate inventory level of sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies, in each designated area, daily.
- Process and record sterilization monitors for all equipment and instruments daily.
- Perform preventative maintenance on and maintain all equipment and instruments per manufacturer guidelines and report equipment failure to supervisor as soon as possible (ASAP).
- Perform routine safety checks on all equipment and instruments as needed.
- Observe all clinic and Accreditation guidelines and safety protocols.
- Wear personal protective equipment including garments, glasses, mask, and gloves at all times while performing main job functions.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Two (2) years' experience with sterilization equipment and processes
- Current Central Sterilization Technician (CST) certification
- Demonstrable knowledge of decontamination, assembly, and sterilization processes.
- Ability to accurately and effectively utilize MS Office programs
