What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Skills Educator/Academic Tutor position at Puzzle Pieces Intervention Center?
Puzzle Pieces Intervention Center implements effective and empirically based treatments that promote success and independence. We provide in-depth training and advisement for treatment by filling in the missing pieces for adults and children with Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Traumatic Brain Injury, and other related neurological, developmental and learning disabilities, and individual support services for all abilities. Our services are not just for individuals with special needs, but also for individuals needing coaching in life, advisements, tutoring/remediation, and supports in achieving their life goals.
The Life Skills Educator/Tutor:
· Will provide educational, social, emotional, and behavioral services/sessions, and life skills under the supervision of the Director.
· Assists and delivers individualized treatment plan goals/objectives, creates interactive lessons and creates hands-on learning activities, provides behavioral instructions/plans, educational remediation or acceleration, social skill or play groups, life skills, and other multi-faceted instructional methodologies to consumers for clients with and without developmental disabilities. Conducts some sessions/services within the community sessting.
Work Experience and Qualifications:
A degree or working toward a degree in education/special education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
5-35 hours per week
Must be able to work some during the day, and we need specifically afterschool through 6 pm M-F, some occasional vendor events, some occasional volunteering, some support with camps and/or Kid's Night Out Events which go until 8:00pm on Friday's once per month.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
