As an engineer at the Holiday Inn Express Tempe hotel, your role will involve assisting in the maintenance and repair of the hotel's physical infrastructure and systems. You will work under the supervision and guidance of our senior engineer.
Schedule: 3pm - 9pm
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the hotel's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including changing filters, lubricating equipment, and inspecting for potential issues.
- Respond to guest requests and reported maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
- Assist in the completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining the hotel's energy management systems.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the hotel's emergency systems, such as fire alarms and sprinklers.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards during maintenance activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in engineering work areas.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for maintenance work.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
- Complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely manner.
- Follow all hotel policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and guest satisfaction.
- Provide exceptional customer service to hotel guests, addressing their concerns and inquiries professionally.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or education in engineering or a related field are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer skills for using maintenance management software and communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
