Role Description
Under the guidance of the Principal, the Junior High School English / Language Arts Teacher will play a vital role in shaping the academic and character development of our scholars. This full-time, on-site position in Bettendorf, IA, involves leading engaging language arts instruction, designing innovative curriculum, and fostering communication skills through dynamic teaching methods. Collaborating closely with students, parents, colleagues, and school administration, the teacher will inspire a love of learning and ensure every scholar achieves academic success and personal growth in a supportive and vibrant classroom environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Develop and implement daily instruction plans as part of the long-range educational and district goals
- Employ a variety of creative, differentiated, and research-based instructional strategies that ensure students are actively engaged in meaningful and rigorous learning experiences
- Conduct interim assessments, track student progress, and perform regular data analysis to determine student mastery and diagnose areas of misunderstanding
- Actively and professionally participate in all faculty and staff meetings, professional development, and events
- Communicates and cooperates with other members of the staff, including their Professional Learning Community, in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for student teacher(s), teacher aide(s) and / or volunteer(s), where applicable.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
