Duties
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of various ages and skill levels.
- Develop customized training programs tailored to the specific needs of each dog and owner.
- Teach basic obedience commands, advanced skills, and address behavioral issues.
- Provide guidance to pet owners on proper handling, care, and training techniques.
- Maintain a safe and positive training environment for both dogs and their owners.
- Monitor progress of dogs throughout the training process and adjust methods as necessary.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure comprehensive care for all animals.
- Keep accurate records of training sessions, progress reports, and client feedback.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dog handling or dog training; certifications in dog training or behavior are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior principles and effective training techniques.
- Experience in pet care, veterinary technician roles, or related fields is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to pet owners.
- Ability to remain calm and patient when working with dogs exhibiting behavioral challenges.
- Familiarity with kennel operations, grooming practices, or equine handling is a plus.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
- Must be physically able to engage in activities such as walking, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
