What is the role?
The Lead Trainer is a dynamic, high-impact role at the heart of our studio’s success. This individual is responsible for building, mentoring, and leading our team of trainers while delivering exceptional class experiences that inspire and retain members.
The ideal candidate leads by example, sets the tone for team culture, and raises the bar for class excellence, energy, and professionalism. They are a natural leader, community builder, and passionate brand ambassador.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach 12–15 classes per week and consistently deliver on the Pvolve class experience.
- Dedicate an additional 10–15 hours per week to administrative and leadership responsibilities,.
- Successfully complete both the Pop-Up Training and 100-hour immersive training programs.
- Serve as an advisor and mentor to the trainer team, providing support, feedback, and inspiration.
- Drive ongoing trainer development by regularly taking trainer classes and delivering growth-oriented feedback.
- Under corporate direction, facilitate training modules for continued education and development of the trainer team.
- Act as the studio’s subject matter expert in Pvolve programming, alignment, motivation, music, vocal delivery, and client connection.
- Maintain strong product knowledge, including class packages, promotions, and studio conversion/utilization goals.
- Serve as the bridge between talent and operations, advising on topics such as member feedback, equipment, sound, schedule optimization, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with the operations team to drive membership growth and retention, ensuring trainers contribute to pre- and post-class sales initiatives, including lead tracking and member follow-up.
- Partner with studio operations on community events to foster a strong, connected local audience.
- Work cross-functionally on PR, influencer partnerships, and external opportunities to grow local brand presence.
- Support social media efforts to grow studio social channels.
- Plan and lead bi-weekly trainer team meetings.
- Stay current on industry trends and competitive offerings to ensure the studio remains innovative and competitive.
- Participate in ongoing education and certification opportunities as advised by corporate.
- Take on additional duties and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of group fitness teaching experience with a strong performance record
- Experience teaching in modalities such as Pilates, Barre, Dance, or other mind-body class formats
- Teacher training and management experience
- Experience coaching the ongoing development of trainer teams
- Experience leading successful teacher trainings to ensure high-quality standards
- Comfortable on a mic leading a fast-paced class with loud music and lots of energy in the room
- Comfortable with a highly physical job, where you are often moving upwards of 20 hours/ week
- A high-energy, charismatic teaching style with the ability to coach to various fitness levels
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude where everyone pitches in to grow the bottom line
- A growth mindset with the ability to both receive and give feedback, seeking constant growth and development within our feedback culture
- A rich understanding of safe exercise practices; anatomy, alignment, physiology, and proper movement execution
- Must exemplify our core values and act as a leader within the organization
- Strong communication, organization and time management skills
- Excellent business acumen with an ability to be both strategic and hands-on with staff
- Possess a big picture focus while implementing detailed, systematic work to drive results
- Current trainer certification from accredited certifying bodies, with preference for one of the following NASM, ACE, or AFAA
- Bachelor’s degree in an exercise related field welcomed but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
