Function: Production Supervisor
Description: The opportunity to be a part of team that manufacturers and distributes high quality chemicals. It is an opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of an office and plant environment including Safety, General Administration, Logistics, Vendor /Supplier Management, and Customer Service. This position is responsible for smooth and efficient daily operations.
Key responsibilities (May include but not limited to):
- Maintaining rail car inventory to include, Chlorine, ferrous, ferric, HCL and empties.
- Generate shipping papers for railcars using RSI.
- Manage the Chlorine inventory and email the inventory spreadsheet to key departments daily.
- Work with the maintenance team to schedule repairs and down time.
Adage
- Receive Cl2 cars in and out of plant
- Receive AFC orders
- Enter pack orders into system
- Enter production orders into system daily
- Receive in the drums and super sacs from BASF, Germany once a month.
- Enter lab results for ferric, ferrous, RCE, HCE and PF etchant, into system to create day tank lots and/or railcar lots after test results are processed.
- View or Print allocation report (Note: must print 2x a day, before noon and at 4:00PM every day.
- Assist the plant administrator when needed to allocate all ferric, ferrous, RCE, HCE, PFE Etchant, HS, Photo and drum orders for next day (2x a day). (plant admin)
- Assist the plant administrator when needed to print sales order bills and COA’s for every shipment. Write down the load information on the Daily Shipper log sheet. Match sales orders with COA’s and attach any other items that are requested on BOL. For example—SDS, labels, NAFTA, Copy of Invoice, Safety Checklist and any other special paperwork
- Put all orders (ferric, ferrous, RCE, HCE, PF Etchant, LFC Drums and Anhydrous Drums into proper bins and folders for drivers to pick up
Ordering
- Mill scale and iron for reduction
- Ferrous and HCL

- Filter cake dumpster
- Garbage dumpster

- Drums and totes
Purchasing
- Enter /update/ receive in stock and non-stock purchase orders for the Detroit plant.
- Research any issues with open/outstanding invoices from vendors and/or purchase orders, interact with administrative assistant, and accounting department to resolve any issues.
- Receive purchase orders in system when shipments are received.
Misc
- Prepare and hold safety meeting once a month
- Inventory
- Chlorine/Production spreadsheets
- Fill in when administrator or plant manager is absent
- Help with document control documents – creating and reviewing annually
- Telephone coverage
- Interface with vendors
- Safety Audits – at least one a week
- Manage the production and lab staff- Compass reviews, job packets, PMs, and rail yard inventory,
- Enter in hazard elimination cards into Dakota, maintain corporate KPI’s
- E-Maintenance work order entry and follow up direct / supervise wo and work with maintenance team.

Required Education / Training / Equivalent Experience:
- Customer Service or Accounts Payable experience
- Problem Solving and Conflict resolution skills

- 5 to 10 years in plant operations, chemical plant operations, maintenance and supervision experience.
- Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree is a plus.
