Our company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Surveyor Assistant. In this role, you will provide support to our surveying team in conducting accurate measurements and gathering data for various land development projects. Responsibilities
- Assist surveyors in conducting field surveys by setting up and operating survey equipment, including total stations and GPS devices.
- Take detailed notes and record measurements during surveys, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
- Conduct research and gather relevant information, such as property records, maps, and previous survey data.
- Help with the preparation of survey reports, maps, and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Maintain and organize surveying equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition at all times.
- Assist in the identification of boundary lines, property corners, and other points of interest on surveyed land.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure surveys are completed within deadlines and meet client requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in surveying or related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment, such as total stations and GPS devices.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to accurately record measurements.
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different surveying sites as needed.
