Job Description
Job Purpose:
As a Mill Planner, you will be integral to ensuring the seamless coordination of production schedules, accurate record-keeping, and smooth communication across teams. We need a proactive, detail-oriented professional with the ability to manage inventory software and handle a variety of scheduling responsibilities to help our operations run efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Production and Material Flow Oversight: Serve as the central coordinator, managing the flow of materials across various departments and stakeholders to ensure the timely production availability of materials for customer transport.
- Rework Paperwork Management: Organize and manage all necessary rework documentation.
- Unit Verification: Verify and tag units in NetSuite for consumption.
- Veneer Truck Sign-In: Ensure all truck deliveries are signed in and data is accurately recorded.
- Veneer Receiving Log: Maintain the receiving log and ensure data accuracy.
- End-of-Shift Reporting: Send out completed logs and reports to key stakeholders.
- Production Report Management: Collect, verify, and manage production reports.
- Tag Management: Ensure tags are accurate, voided tags are updated in NetSuite.
- Daily Production Reporting: Input production data and email reports to key personnel.
- Inventory Reporting: Update inventory logs and refresh reports on SharePoint.
- Run Schedule Assembly: Create optimized production line schedules based on unit lengths.
- Rework Schedule Creation: Plan for rework of short lengths and manage urgent cut needs.
- Support Shipping Team: Assist with shipping operations to maintain smooth workflow.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using NetSuite, SharePoint, Excel, and other software.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain precise records and reports.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and make informed scheduling decisions.
- Excellent Communication: Clear, effective communication to collaborate with team members. Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints and eliminate delays.
- Organizational Skills: Efficient management of multiple priorities with strong attention to deadlines.
- Systems-Thinker with the ability to arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in production planning and scheduling and inventory management
- Proficiency Excel, and production software.
- NetSuite Experience is a plus!
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education is a plus.
