Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Food Safety: Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to Florida health and safety regulations.
- Quality Control: Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients by adhering to inventory rotation and storage guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Assist with kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold cleanliness and orderliness.
- Adaptability: Be willing to assist in various kitchen roles as needed during busy times.
Key Job Duties:
- Operate the wok station efficiently, ensuring all dishes are cooked to order and served promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wok station in compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and restaurant standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure consistency in preparation and presentation.
- Support the Chef de Cuisine and other kitchen leaders by taking on additional tasks as required during peak service times.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Basic understanding of wok cooking techniques and Asian cuisine preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Florida food safety regulations, including sanitation protocols and OSHA standards.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a professional kitchen is preferred, but not required. Culinary school graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and grow in a culinary career.
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen colleagues.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the seasonal nature of the position.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time position based in Florida and subject to all applicable state and federal employment laws.
