Main Responsibilities
- Configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems ensuring smooth operation.
- Plan, prepare, and create working procedures based on specifications from blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions.
- Gather equipment and materials for the job.
- Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.
- Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps.
- Install insulation and pipe covering safely removing old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures.
- Inspect pipes testing for pressure and leaks reporting and/or resolving problems.
- Coordinate with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation minimizing disruption to operations.
- Maintain records including safety logs and inspection details.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training strongly desired.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Use a variety of tools including blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Duties
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and stretching to install and repair pipes and pipe fittings.
- Lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.
