Job Description
This position involves configuring, installing, and maintaining various piping systems to ensure their smooth operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Placing, preparing, and maintaining pipes made from diverse materials.
- Consulting blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions to create working procedures based on specifications.
- Gathering equipment and materials required for the job.
- Cutting, bending, threading, and fitting pipes.
- Attaching pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cutting or boring holes prior to projects.
- Inspecting pipes, testing for pressure and leaks, and reporting or resolving problems.
- Coordinating with management to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
- Complying with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintaining records, including safety logs and inspection details.
- Performing other duties assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, with any vocational training being highly desirable.
- The ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- The ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Pipe Fitter.
