About This Role
In this position as a Life Safety Equipment Technician at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, you will be responsible for installing and certifying life safety systems and associated devices according to local and national codes and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install equipment according to national life safety codes and installation standards, ensuring all work is done with integrity.
- Review blueprints/drawings to determine device locations and placement, verifying accuracy before beginning work.
- Meet with building engineers, property management, and site contacts upon arrival and departure to notify of work status.
- Provide documentation according to NFPA standards upon completion of work, including sign-off upon successful testing and certification.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of industry experience is required.
- NICET certification is mandatory.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of test equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and customer service orientation are essential.
- Flexibility with scheduling requirements is necessary, as occasional evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments may arise.
