Due to business growth, our client is adding a Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Commercial, to its small, collaborative legal team.The lawyer in this role will provide key legal support for regulatory compliance and commercial operations, including oversight of FERC reporting and compliance for interstate assets and drafting / negotiating midstream commercial contracts involving natural gas and liquid energy products. This position can be based either in San Antonio or Houston.The Ideal Candidate Has : 5 years of legal experience, with a focus on midstream oil and gas regulatory matters and / or commercial transactions.Expertise in managing compliance with FERC regulations for interstate and intrastate pipelines.Strong skills in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements for midstream transactions.A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating regulatory risks.The ability to educate and collaborate with internal teams on regulatory compliance.A Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership in good standing.This is a unique opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment at the intersection of traditional and low-carbon energy solutions.
