Part Time Seamstress (flexible hours)

## Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Seamstress to join our team. The Seamstress will be responsible for sewing and fabricating canvas awnings and hammocks for our outdoor pet enclosures in an air-conditioned office setting.

## Responsibilities

• Operate a cutting table for very large ranges of marine-grade canvas. Typically 46-56" wide rolls are being cut.
• Operate a sewing machine to sew small and large marine-grade canvas according to specifications.
• Adding binding to edges and delivering an exceptional-quality finished product.
• Sewing multiple pieces of canvas together to create extra large canvas pieces. Sewing in vinyl plastic strips to reinforce seams.
• Sewing in stainless steel clips to corners of canvas hammocks.
• Typical awning and canvas sizes range significantly. Some extra large
• Perform garment construction tasks such as cutting, hemming, sewing on edging, cutting and sewing scalloped edges for awnings, attaching fasteners, grommets, and stainless steel clips.
• Inspect finished products for quality and ensure they meet standards
• Collaborate with team members to ensure customer expectations of quality are exceeded.

## Requirements

• Proven experience as a Seamstress or similar role
• Ability to quickly learn on the job. Comfort making mistakes and correcting them.
• Proficiency in operating sewing machines and other garment construction tools
• Knowledge of canvas and its properties
• Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in a warehouse setting
• Comfort with technology such as email and slack messaging

Job Types: Part-time, Temp-to-hire, Contract

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
