Northern New Jersey based General Contractor with a national presence in the construction and rehabilitation of multi-family affordable housing is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing team. The ideal candidate has 3 years of relevant experiences CPA is preferred, but not required.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Work closely with the team to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity
- Work directly with the Payroll Manager to assist in recording weekly payroll entries
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, initiate cash transfers, record cash receipts
- Day to day general ledger maintenance
- Assist in preparation and distribution of financial statements and activities associated with the month-end close inclusive of detailed general ledger account reconciliations; create journal entries for monthly close, ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Prepare pre-construction due diligence forms associated with all new construction products, working closely with Ownership and outside lenders
- Roll forward and assist with monthly Accounts Receivable requisitioning and execution of lien waivers along with other draw package documentation
- Input of original construction budgets and cost codes
- Review of vendor W-9’s
- Assist in the completion of project specific Cost Certification Audits
- Assist in the completion of documentation required for General Liability and Worker’s Compensation insurance audits
- Support Project Management and Contracts teams to ensure deliverables are met
- Other related projects, as assigned
