What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACTT Peer Support Specialist position at Pyramid Healthcare?
October Road ACTT 3 Mars Hill team is looking for a Certified Peer Support Specialist!
ACTT is a comprehensive team of professionals from many disciplines that provide tailored services to meet the client’s mental health, substance use, vocational and housing needs. ACTT improves outcomes for people with severe mental illness who are most at risk of psychiatric crisis and/or affected by other social determinants of health.
Providing Care to Those Who Need it Most. ACTT provides treatment and care to patients who may not have access to these important services otherwise. The patients they help have some of the highest risks for hospitalization, homelessness, or incarceration.
Candidates must have active PSS Certification in NC and able to work in Mars Hill NC
Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
• Assists program residents in maintaining daily routines by providing motivational support and pro-recovery coping & conflict resolution skills.
• Conducts weekly Recovery Support services group and provides documentation.
• Provides shift coverage, days, nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled based on program need.
• Identifies internal & external barriers to full participation in the treatment setting.
• Assists the individual and team to develop appropriate coping strategies to overcome these barriers to include but not limited to assisting an individual with anxiety in groups to participate more comfortably & meaningfully in the treatment setting.
• Attends and actively participates in staff meetings and trainings as needed to include monthly recovery support team meetings.
• Gathers and shares information with individual regarding recovery community options and recovery community events.
• Monitors client leave passes and conducts client searches and urinalysis testing as necessary.
• Answers hotline calls as needed.
• Provided outreach coverage as needed
• Responsible for completing all required paperwork according to agency standards.
• Responds appropriately to the cultural differences of staff, clients, residents, and referral sources.
• Participates in peer support consultations as needed.
• Adheres to all policies, procedures & regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Licensure, Education, & Experience:
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Must have Peer Support Specialist Certification in NC
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
• Previous case management or peer mentoring continuing education training preferred.
• Obtained specialized training in: Trauma Informed Care, behavioral health peer support services, & wellness topics desired.
