Pyramid Healthcare with October roads Rocky Mount ACTT Team is dedicated to providing comprehensive, community-based support to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. We are currently seeking a Housing Specialist to join our team and assist clients in obtaining and maintaining stable housing.
Salary: $24.50 - $25 per hour
Schedule: Full Time w/ Benefits. Day hours
Position Overview
The Housing Specialist will leverage their expertise in local housing authorities and property management to support individuals facing housing instability. This role requires a strong background in social work, crisis intervention, and housing navigation, ensuring clients have access to safe, sustainable living environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide crisis management and intervention services to individuals in need.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of local housing resources to help clients secure and retain housing.
- Collaborate with property management teams to ensure resident well-being and prevent housing displacement.
- Advocate for clients and negotiate with landlords and housing authorities to support sustainable housing solutions.
- Navigate and interpret laws and regulations related to housing and property management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. (Graduate degree in a Human Services discipline preferred.)
- Qualified Professional (QP) status as defined by 10A NCAC 27G.0104.
- 1-3 years of experience working with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.
- Strong knowledge of local housing authorities, resources, and regulations.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in crisis management, intervention, and addiction counseling techniques.
- Experience with motivational interviewing and mental health support strategies.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills to support client housing needs.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with property management and community partners.
