Summary: The Regional Transportation Director is responsible for overseeing and managing transportation operations within a designated region, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of clients, staff, and medical supplies. This role places a strong emphasis on safety protocols and compliance with transportation regulations. Under general direction, manages and directs Transportation Supervisors and Drivers. By and large oversees that each supervisor has covered all admissions and discharges, promotes a culture of Risk Aversion and continuous Safety improvements.

By and large oversees that each supervisor has covered all admissions and discharges, promotes a culture of Risk Aversion and continuous Safety improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and rollout departmental safety initiatives, measure effectiveness
- Leading the Onboarding/Training Program for their regions
- Monthly/Recurring Regional Transportation Safety and KPI Reporting (Safety Scorecard, Telematics, Training Completion, Unusual Events, Overtime, Turnover)
- Hiring/Termination (final decision) on all driver hires and terminations
- Department lead on transportation-related root cause analysis meetings
- Coordinate with Fleet Management on ensuring modern/safe fleet vehicles (maintenance)
- Schedule adherence and schedule monitoring to optimize labor utilization, reduce overtime, and reduce ride share costs
- ModivCare contract management/liaison in their regions
- Conducts weekly meetings to inform staff of new procedures and driver issues.
- Collaborates with dispatch and admissions personnel to ensure information is accurate and comprehensive for the day-to-day operations.
- Collaborates with a cross-function team to delivery regular safety training sessions for transportation staff, emphasizing safe driving practices, emergency response protocols, and infection control measures.
- Provides supervision of and objectives to the company's Transportation Hub Managers, Supervisors and Drivers.
Develop and implement departmental recurring meeting and supervision structure to ensure regular, effective communication is occurring
Attend meetings as required
Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations
Ability to work autonomously at most times

Reporting:
Reviews and communicates the transportation data collection and reporting system that transparently reflect Risk and Ongoing Safety Improvements
Distributes weekly and monthly executive-level KPI status reporting to Hub Managers, Supervisors and Drivers to show improved efficiency, reduced empty miles and reduced unproductive driver time.
Monitor metrics, identify areas of improvement and implement action plans for continual improvement to the patient experience.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Licensure, & Experience
- Minimum Associates level degree (preferred Bachelor's level)
- 5 years Healthcare or Human Services
- Proven experience in transportation management, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required at moderate levels to walk, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must lift and/ or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision levels required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Remote work with the expectation that the employee be physically present at various company locations periodically. This position will require travel, up to 50% of the time. This position will be scheduled based on operational need & will be required to provide own transportation (will include mileage reimbursement accordingly to Pyramid policy). Incumbents may be exposed to viruses, disease, and/or infection from clients in the work environment. Incumbents may be exposed to traumatic situations (i.e. psychiatric).
