What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visual Art Instructor position at Pyramid Inc.?
Pyramid Tampa is seeking a full time Visual Arts Instructor (Art Teacher) to teach fine arts with a focus on painting to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Some professional experience is helpful, but not required. Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities is not required but helpful. Behavior tech experience a plus! Personal care is required with this position.
Pyramid is a non-profit adult day training program. Visual and performing arts are core components of our service. Students perform and exhibit statewide.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching art, specifically painting techniques, to students with disabilities
- Developing short-term objectives for students
- Developing classes, projects and curricula
- Being a dependable role model for students
- Determining interests and abilities of students
- Performing personal care
Requirements
- Valid Florida driver's license, safe driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three or more visual arts-related skills and ability to share with students
- Successful criminal background check
- Successful drug test
- Valid driver's license
Starting pay is $16.50. Benefits include group health insurance, paid leave and holidays. Work schedule is during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
