Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Programmer to join our fully automated, state-of-the-art injection mold manufacturing facility. This position is critical to ensuring the precision and quality of molds through effective programming, measurement, and inspection. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Hexagon PC-DMIS, a solid understanding of blueprints and GD&T, and experience using a variety of precise measuring tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute CMM programs using Hexagon PC-DMIS software to inspect precision injection mold components and ensure they meet design specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to create accurate inspection programs.
- Apply knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to perform detailed measurements.
- Utilize and calibrate measurement tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and thread gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Collaborate with design engineers, machinists, and quality assurance personnel to resolve dimensional discrepancies and ensure optimal mold quality.
- Document and maintain detailed inspection reports, calibration logs, and programming files.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality regulations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve CMM programs for efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
- Support and assist with other quality control tasks as needed, including visual inspections and manual measurements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in Hexagon PC-DMIS software for programming and operating CMM equipment.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T symbols.
- Experience using precise measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread gauges.
- Familiarity with basic math skills and ability to apply them in a technical environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection processes.
- Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to quality improvement.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in injection mold building or machining environments.
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems or similar industry standards.
