Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems function efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts, along with excellent problem-solving skills.
Duties
- Provide technical support for desktop systems, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory.
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of Windows Server environments.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including TCP/IP configurations.
- Monitor and maintain firewall settings to ensure network security.
- Utilize Remedy or similar ticketing systems to track support requests and resolutions.
- Conduct regular maintenance on computer hardware to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve complex technical issues.
- Document processes and procedures for future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience in desktop support or technical support roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments and desktop operating systems.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components and their troubleshooting.
- Experience with software troubleshooting across various applications.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and configurations.
- Proficient in managing user accounts through Active Directory.
- Knowledge of firewall configurations and security protocols is a plus.
- Experience with Remedy or similar IT service management tools is desirable.
