Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems and applications are functioning optimally. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level IT support for hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution of technical problems.
- Assist users with software troubleshooting, including installation, configuration, and updates of applications.
- Manage computer systems and ensure proper functioning of desktop environments.
- Utilize tools such as ServiceNow and Remedy for ticket management and tracking user requests.
- Configure and maintain VPN connections for remote users, ensuring secure access to network resources.
- Support LAN connectivity issues and perform basic networking tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement solutions that enhance system performance and user experience.
- Document technical procedures and create user guides for common issues to improve overall support efficiency.
Skills
- Proficient in IT support with a strong focus on customer service.
- Solid understanding of computer networking concepts, including TCP/IP protocols.
- Experience with software troubleshooting across various operating systems.
- Familiarity with SCCM for software deployment and management.
- Knowledge of computer management practices to maintain system integrity.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with users at all levels.
