We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring optimal performance of computer systems and networks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of computer hardware, networking, and management, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
Responsibilities
- Provide desktop support for hardware and software issues across various platforms including Windows and Mac OS.
- Analyze and troubleshoot computer hardware problems, ensuring timely resolution.
- Manage computer networking issues, including DNS and LAN configurations.
- Utilize ServiceNow for tracking incidents and service requests, ensuring accurate documentation of all support activities.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of new workstations and peripherals.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their technical issues and provide appropriate solutions.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and assist in the management of software licenses.
- Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and initiatives aimed at improving overall system performance.
Experience
- Proven experience in desktop support or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts, including DNS and LAN configurations.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Knowledge of Mac OS is a plus but not required.
