Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to end-users, ensuring their computing environments are efficient and effective. This role requires a strong understanding of both hardware and software, along with excellent customer service skills to assist users with their technical issues.
Duties
- Provide desktop support for Windows and Mac OS environments, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist users with software installation, configuration, and updates.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to computer hardware, peripherals, and network connectivity.
- Utilize Remedy or similar ticketing systems to track and manage support requests.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide timely solutions.
- Maintain documentation of support processes, procedures, and user guides for future reference.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
- Monitor network performance using TCP/IP protocols to ensure optimal functionality.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience in software troubleshooting across various applications.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Prior experience in desktop support or technical support roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with Remedy or similar ticketing systems is advantageous.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking principles is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
