What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly and Production Workers position at Pyrotechnic Specialties?
Required to wear 100% cotton clothing at all times.
Mixer:
Pay Rate $12.00 per hour
Operate or tend mixing machine or blender which blends specified chemicals according to formula.
Select and carry pre-determined quantities of ingredients from storage magazines and dry house to mixing house. May compute quantities of chemical agents required for batch of given size according to formula.
Weigh, measure and load specified ingredients into hopper and mix same.
Stop mixer at desired intervals to add ingredients and to examine or inspect mixtures.
Removes completed mixture from blenders or mixers and package for storage, shipment or other processing.
Pellet Press Operator:
Pay Rate $12.00 per hour
Tends press, upon formal training, that forms pellets from pyrotechnic and explosive compositions.
Operates press by remote control due to potential fire and explosion hazards.
Maintains equipment and tooling in good operating condition.
Fills machine hopper with powder.
Aligns dies and punches of machine, and adjust cogwheels to which punches are attached to regulate punches to produce size pellets specified.
Assembly Worker
Pay Rate $10.00 per hour
General Duties:
Operate small hand tools (press, seal, crimp, or other tools as needed)
Assemble small piece parts.
Weigh pyrotechnics using scales (balance and electronic).
Load parts with pyrotechnics.
Weigh and gage parts/powders to assure standards are met on all criteria.
Stamp data on parts using rubber stamp or machine.
Pack completed parts into cartons, tubes, or crates.
Assemble, pack, mark, stack, and strap shipping containers, using stencils/labels, etc.
Qualifications:
Should demonstrate ability to use good sound judgement.
Must be capable of following oral and written instructions, or communications
Must be able to count accurately and demonstrate good finger dexterity abilities.
Accountability:
Reports directly to Production Supervisor most often through a Lead Operator
Work Environment:
Contact with chemicals daily, depending on operation or item being produced. There may be extended periods of standing or sitting. Work is primarily conducted inside buildings.
Note: Work may be of a repetitive nature.
