What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Stamping and Fabrication Line Operator position at Q-Lab Corporation?
Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking a Sheet Metal Stamping and Fabrication Line Operator. This position will be responsible for production and packaging of our standard and custom sheet metal paint test panels. The position requires a high attention to quality details and the use of industrial fabrication machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Continuous and consistent inspection of sheet metal part quality
- Precisely count sheet metal parts before packaging
- Ability to cross train and work any of the numerous areas within the department
- Detect and report unusual or defective materials to the supervisor
- Ability to learn and operate machinery including: high speed automated stamping line, surface grinder, 20ton manual punch press, hydraulic manual punch press, mechanical sheet metal shear, sheet metal press brake, sheet metal slip rollers, sand blaster
- Follow Lean Manufacturing 5S practices
- Operate a forklift and jib crane to carry raw materials or completed product
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Required Skills/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Understanding of how to work from blueprints and written specifications
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Working knowledge of basic computer software
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 90% of work day if needed
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary
- Ability to work in loud conditions that require hearing protection
