Position Summary:
Q is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Rifle Sub-Assembly Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling critical rifle components, ensuring each part and assembly meets Q's quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble rifle components and sub-assemblies in accordance with monthly work orders and the master build schedule.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and other specialized assembly equipment.
- Inspect parts for defects, ensuring Q quality control standards are met throughout the assembly process.
- Perform functional checks and minor adjustments to ensure proper fit, alignment, and function.
- Document assembly procedures, maintain accurate production records, and complete non-conformance quality reports.
- Troubleshot basic assembly issues and escalate complex problems to supervisor or manufacturing engineering staff.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper handling of firearm components and the use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean, efficient work area.
- Collaborate withe team members, supervisors, manufacturing engineers, and quality control to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior experience in firearms assembly, maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with small parts and components.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with sustained focus and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of firearm function, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift and move components as required (up to XX lbs).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with torque wrenches, calipers, and other measurement tools.
- Firearms industry or manufacturing experience is a plus.
