The Forge Operator is responsible for operating the forge at the manufacturing plant. Specific responsibilities may include:
- Review shop order packet for procedural instructions.
- Perform and assists own setups.
- Check dimensions of parts and holds tolerance of plus or minus .001.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
- Measure and inspect machined parts to ensure conformance to product specifications and record QC data.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Use of most types of inspection gages. Example ID/OD micrometers.
- Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to API Q1/ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.
- Understand the implications of not conforming to QMS requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Five (5) plus years of experience in the manufacturing sector.
- Five (5) years of machinery experience.
- Experience working in an API Q1/ISO 9001:2015 environment a plus.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.

- Ability to lift to 55 pounds.
- Ability to work in a hot environment.
- Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
- Must comply with any safety or PPE requirements.
- Exposure to production environment.

- Make sure that customers’ requests come first.
- Self-starter who thinks of innovative, faster ways to accomplish tasks.
