Fabrication Technician

Q4 is seeking an experienced Fabrication Technician gather materials, cut/prepare materials for fabrication, clean manufacturing area and assist as needed throughout the shop. The ideal candidate will be hard working and adaptable with prior experience. Specific duties include:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare materials for fabrication by cutting and trimming;
• Review drawings and lists and gather materials as required;
• Shift materials from work areas as necessary;
• Assist in all areas of production as requested;
• Clean up material & prep for welding, remove weld splatter and sharp edges/burs on completed product
• Organize, collect & stage material within the shop for recycling.
• Move materials and products utilizing the Company vehicle and picks up items as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years prior related experience, especially experience with material cutting (steel, aluminum, composites) or carpentry skills
• Ability to read a tape measure to the nearest 1/16 or millimeter.
• Previous welding experience is a plus.
• Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.
• Reading and understanding manufacturing drawings required.
• General knowledge of hand tools and most power tools, including grinders, sanders, drill press, portable drills, mag drills, saws, hydraulic presses, rivet tools, forklifts, cutters, torches and welders.
• High school education or equivalent or comparable combination of education and experience.
