CNC Machinist

The Career

Are you a skilled CNC Set-Up Machinist with a strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment? QA1 is looking for a talented individual to join our Weekend Shift team in Lakeville, MN. In this highly independent role, you will set-up and operate CNC machines, perform quality checks, and ensure the highest standards of precision and safety in every part you produce as part of a small team. What You Will Do

• Set up and configure CNC machines for each job order, ensuring tools and bar stock are loaded correctly
• Adjust programs and tooling to ensure parts are machined to exact specifications
• Monitor and maintain coolant levels and lubrication to keep machines running smoothly
• Conduct first piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications
• Use precision measurement tools to check part accuracy
• Deburr and clean parts to remove any excess material and ensure quality finishes
• Accurately input part counts and keep track of production progress
• Complete necessary production paperwork and inspection logs to maintain detailed records
• Report any issues or discrepancies to your supervisor for quick resolution
• Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment and keeps work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
• Troubleshoot and report discrepancies or malfunctions to management
• Other duties as beneficial to the success of QA1
  
  

The Critical Skills And Experience You’ll Need

• High school diploma or GED
• Proven experience operating CNC machines and performing set-ups
• Ability to read blueprints and use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Strong understanding of machine controls, configuration, and capacity
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, both independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
• Person people want to work with
• Positive attitude, reliable attendance with excellent work ethic
• Basic math, reading and English communication skills
• Comfortable with team interaction or alone under busy conditions with minimal supervision
• Must be available and open to the idea of cross training learning
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including extended standing up to 12 hours a day with occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
