Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating an inviting atmosphere for our customers while preparing high-quality beverages and food items. Your professionalism, polished presence, and commitment to excellence will help ensure that every guest has a memorable experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items with precision and care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, equipment, and customer spaces, while strictly adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks such as wiping down counters, sanitizing equipment, sweeping/mopping floors, and disposing of trash to ensure a polished, inviting environment.
• Engage with customers to take orders, provide thoughtful recommendations, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
• Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately while utilizing retail math skills to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies, organizing storage areas, and notifying management of low stock levels to avoid disruptions in service.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive and supportive work environment, fostering teamwork and shared success.
• Stay informed about menu offerings, seasonal promotions, and brewing methods to provide informed recommendations to customers.
• Open and close the café efficiently, including setting up or breaking down workstations, cleaning espresso machines, and ensuring all supplies are properly stocked for the next shift.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of barista or hospitality experience is required. However, we offer training for motivated candidates with a strong hospitality background.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and create a welcoming environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• A willingness to learn about coffee varieties, brewing methods, and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor that aligns with the boutique style of Qahwati.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.55 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
