Lead the Group’s approach to sourcing high-integrity carbon offsetting. In this capacity, you will set the strategic direction for the Group on carbon offsets as we work towards our 2030 interim targets and 2050 net zero target. You will oversee the Group’s long-term approach to offsetting, including influencing the Qantas Climate Fund investment portfolio and driving the evolution of the Group’s offsetting integrity framework to ensure the Group is a leader in the development of high-integrity carbon markets. In partnership with the Climate Customer team, you'll shape the trajectory of pivotal programs like Qantas Future Planet and Fly Carbon Neutral, and with the Climate Strategy team shape our evolving our nature strategies, diving deep into nature-based solutions. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Climate Change, you will have the opportunity to drive transformational change that enables progress towards our climate targets. Key Requirements for Success: Comprehensive knowledge of the carbon market, including offset methodologies and related regulations. A skill for distilling complex technical data into comprehensible insights for varied audiences. Senior management experience in strategic climate initiatives, paired with robust project management capabilities. Strong executive stakeholder management skills with a proven track record of collaboration across business units, functions and teams. Proven ability to influence at a senior level, both internally and externally, to achieve strategic business outcomes. Proven leadership in guiding diverse project teams towards collective success. Exceptional communication prowess and a history of fruitful stakeholder engagements across entities like government bodies, regulators, and investor groups. Sharp commercial insights, coupled with experience in high-value contract negotiations. Analytical excellence, complemented by innovative system development capabilities.
