Application Development Manager - Crop
The Opportunity
Drive efficient and effective application development initiatives by leading team within area of responsibility, guiding on project strategy and communicating and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement to ensure adherence to service level agreements and alignment with business technical needs.
- Location: ND - Fargo
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office)
- The salary range for this role is between $112,500 - $168,500 depending on experience
Your new role
Responsibilities:
- Manage team workload by forecasting needed resources and usage, prioritizing, delegating, and tracking application development tasks, supervising work, and providing guidance as required to ensure efficient achievement of application development goals
- Foster the achievement of service level agreements by communicating with business leaders, tracking development projects, and analyzing results to ensure alignment of technical solutions with key stakeholder expectations
- Facilitate day-to-day team operations by developing and implementing short-term strategy and collaborating with senior department leaders to align with long-term initiatives and leverage available resources for application development initiatives
- Capitalize on opportunities for continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to applications to drive efficiency and effectiveness of technical solutions
- Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
- 7 years relevant experience

Implement planning to prioritize, organize, and measure work - Organize people, tasks, and activities to yield efficient workflow

Preferred Education Specifics
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field
Preferred Experience
- Application development experience
- experience managing or leading others

Preferred Knowledge
- Advanced working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and management information systems (MIS)
- Advanced working knowledge of technical documentation
- Advanced working knowledge of software development lifecycle and relevant milestones; project management methodology
- Advanced working knowledge of .NET technologies and object-relational mapping (ORMs)
- Advanced working knowledge of n-tier architecture
- Working knowledge of insurance terminology, property and casualty billing systems, and policy administration systems
- Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources
Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
