Overview
Our privately owned children's general dental practice is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented dental assistant to join our family aka our loyal and hardworking team :) Must have nitrous oxide monitoring and radiology certifications; coronal polishing is highly preferred; and sealant application is not required but again preferred. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, team-oriented, eager to dive in, with an upbeat attitude to help provide delightful and positive patient experiences.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
- Assist the hygienist with charting and dental cleanings.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with OSHA infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. We utilize phosphor plates.
- Maintain accurate patient chart notes and patient information using Eaglesoft EHR.
- Educate patients and parents/guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Assist front office staff as needed, by helping with appointment scheduling, confirming schedules, post-treatment follow ups.
- Ensure the dental clinic and office is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Skills
- Nitrous Oxide Monitoring
- Coronal Polishing and Sealant Application Preferred!
- CPR/BLS
- Proficient in taking X-rays and assisting in various dental procedures.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices and materials.
- Familiarity with dental and medical records management and dental terminology.
- Experience using Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with our young patients, their parents/guardians, and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with children, while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
