Forklift Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Duties

• Operate forklifts to move materials around the warehouse safely and efficiently.
• Perform order picking tasks to fulfill customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
• Assist in heavy lifting and transporting of goods, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain an organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols while operating machinery.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
• Utilize basic math skills for inventory management and order accuracy.

Experience

• Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with materials handling processes and equipment is highly desirable.
• Experience in order picking and heavy lifting will be considered an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong communication skills.
• A valid forklift operator certification is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
