We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler Tester to join our team. This role is responsible for following specified methods to assemble subassemblies and hydraulic units having light, average and heavy weight parts, assembling mechanical components and finished products while performing rigorous testing to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly, testing procedures, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal product performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble valve units with approximately 15 to 60 parts, following standardized methods. Use of basic shop math and ability to read blueprints and gauges.
- Make designated fits to close tolerances involving use of hand and simple power tools and test benches.
- Press fixtures, lift mechanisms and special machines are provided where needed.
- Make simple adjustments of parts for free working.
- Testing of completed unit; following prescribed procedure and limits of acceptance.
- Any additional duties as assigned by team leader or supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but experience in supervisory or lead roles for an assembly line is highly preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education; and minimum of 2 related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
