POSITION DESCRIPTION:
EnFin’s Director of Operational Risk will foster a culture of compliance and ethics within the organization to ensure optimal growth, minimal risk and drive down loan default rates. Streamline and implement standards for operational excellence to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. The Director of Operational Risk is required to encourage employee suggestions and feedback; foster a culture of continuous improvement and continuously monitor and improve quality standards for internal teams and external partners to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.

Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and prioritize commercial risks that may impact business operations, financial performance, or reputation.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Sales to assess difficult cases where an objective perspective is required for resolution.
- Review O&M quotes with the Remediation Project Manager and responsible for approving O&M remittance and relevant QAQC.
- Responsible for process development including (but not limited to) streamlining workflow in CRM; develop warranty workmanship process for Enfin and relevant official notification for channel partners and O&M providers.
- Set targets and benchmarks for continuous improvement.
- Regularly review and refine operational processes to ensure success.
- Develop and implement fraud detection strategies; develop and maintain fraud detection tools and systems; O&M standardization for orphaned projects; assess current controls and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Ensure controls are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards. In doing so, establish new controls to address emerging risk and potential threats.
- Conduct audits and assessments to evaluate control effectiveness; identify potential gaps and implement new strategies to implement mitigation measures.
- Establish a QARS committee and collaborate with law enforcement (if necessary).
- Collaborate with compliance teams to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management on fraud, O&M and RM activities.
- Lead the special investigation team and oversee the investigation and resolution of compliance issues between channel partners and EnFin. Communicate final recommendations to executive management.
- Negotiate pricing with installers, suppliers and O&M providers.
- Onboard new O&M partners for orphaned customers
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Schedule regular meetings, discussions, and teleconferences to strengthen the relationship with our stakeholders.
- Ensure all customers’ concerns or escalations promptly, professionally, and accurately.
- Regulatory affairs
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes and updates
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and industry associations
- Leverage existing relationships and develop and maintain relationships with regulatory stakeholders
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory and tariff documents
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management.
- A bachelor’s degree in business or other related field with a minimum of 12 years’ work experience as well as 10 years of PMP or other project management experience and 5 years of Solar operation experience.
- Customer service experience including previous financial services and/or consumer lending experience.
- B2B2C experience and proven track record of success with orphaned customers, commercial risk, and fraud detection.
- Experience in fraud detection, and prevention, O&M remediation, risk management and solar operations experience from marketing to post PTO is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills requiring sensitivity and discretion; capable of analyzing data; strong attention to detail; and the ability to exercise sound judgement.
- Proven track record of B2B2C sales and/or developing B2B relationships.
- Productive performer that can work with very little guidance and pursue/manage multiple threads, make accurate forecasts, and hit major milestones on time.
- Ability to influence and direct third-party providers to execute and remediate projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Demonstrated track record of successfully working on multiple projects and activities at one time; must possess ability to work effectively under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and complete assignments with little oversight.
- Excellent time management and prioritization; enjoy operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Advanced working skills set with Salesforce, Tableau, and MS Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) including advanced Excel formulas (VLOOKUP, if statements, pivot tables)
- Experience related to consumer loan processing, underwriting and regulatory requirements.
