POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Q CELLS Home Energy Solutions seeks a Field Manager to manage the overall construction on solar and battery projects being built in new home developments. As a Field Manager you will be responsible for onsite oversight and management of the solar and battery installation phases during home construction. Major responsibilities include conducting job site visits to the new home communities to oversee the solar and battery construction. The Field Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the solar contractors complete the solar and battery installations on schedule, within budget, and passing quality scores. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with experience working with new home builders and managing the solar and battery construction schedules. This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.

Responsibilities
- Attend new community kickoff meetings, preconstruction walk throughs and any other key builder meetings specifically related to field operations.
- Continuous training with installation partners on install best practices, quality, and safety.
- Provide accurate installation updates by visiting communities and staying in close face-to-face contact with site superintendents and installation partner crews.
- Resolve field issues promptly to ensure no delays in meeting construction schedules
- May be required from time to time to host inspections with AHJs.
- May be required to support procurement/supply chain with end of month/quarter/end of year inventory reconciliation.
- May be required from time to time to help commission solar and storage systems.
- Attend, participate, and provide feedback during routine team and/or partner meetings.
- Provide design redlines for any unaccounted-for changes that change the design layout, electrical configuration etc.
- Manage Quality of Construction and adherence to Scope of work.
- Conduct site visits to the builder’s new home communities for kick off meetings and job walks.
- Main point of contact for builder superintendents to align builder construction schedules, solar contractor schedules, inspection coordination/support and any field related issues that may arise.
- Communicate with Project Management team on status updates in the field.
- Conduct Quality Audits on solar contractors' PV and Battery installations.
- Ensure that the solar contractors complete the required scope on time and within budget.
- Review operational procedures and ensure conformance to industry best practices.
- Analyze and monitor solar contractors’ performance and review scorecard results with installer.
- Update CRM, Fulfillment portal, third party financier portals and various other business tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field with a minimum of 8 years' work experience in project management with 3 years’ work experience in Field Operations and Operations Management related to solar and storage in new home communities.
- Ability to read Solar Plan Sets as well as impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills as well as process driven while finding long-term solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present internal and external stakeholders on the performance of the new home solar contractors.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment.
- Valid Driver License and clean driving record.
- Ability to visit job sites and access roofs at heights of 3 stories or less in strict compliance with QCells and OSHA’s safety requirements.
- Background in Construction, Roofing, Solar or Electrical.
- Preferred OSHA 30 Certification.
